A BAJILLION WAYS TO….

A BAJILLION WAYS TO….

A baJILLion Ways to....-1

Happy Friday friends!  The long awaited new series is here! So many times I find I want to share something but I’m like ahhh there’s a few ways to show this, what’s the best way?   For example, if I want to show several ways to wear a denim jacket in the spring, or a new trend, or even several things to do in one place, so thus this series was born.  Plus, you know I can’t resist a good play on words so the baJILLion ways was just too perfect.  I haven’t decided a timeline of how often I’ll do these, I’m in the process of brainstorming ideas and a lot depends on the little guy and my free time, but my hope for now is every other week or so.

WHAT’S UP WEDNESDAY

WHAT’S UP WEDNESDAY

Happy Wednesday friends!  I truly cannot believe it is already time for this post!  The last Wednesday of every month I link up with Shay and Sheaffer and we answer these questions for What’s Up Wednesday…..

WUWquestions-edit

And I seriously feel like we JUST did this!  Where is this month going?!  Well, while we are pondering that, let’s get to it shall we?

WHAT WE’RE EATING THIS WEEK

Okay you guys, the kitchen is almost finished which means I can cook again.  But, if you know me, you know I don’t really like to cook, so really what it means is I’m back to making 2-3 meals a week and the rest is carry out.  I tell myself when Leyton gets older I will cook more, so here’s hoping.

And while we are on the topic of food, OMG who has had this ice cream??

IMG_7746

I normally try not to buy ice cream because, hello trying to eat healthy here, but I was intrigued by this flavor and holy crap is it good!  All of their other flavors looked amazing too!  Let’s just say I’m glad I have nothing to wear a bathing suit to this summer.

WHAT I’M REMINISCING ABOUT

Napa!!  Eric and I just went for our 10 year wedding anniversary and had THE best time.  I could stay there forever in the land of wine and cheese.  That was our second time there and it was just as good as the first.  My only responsibility for 5 days was to taste wine and give my opinion.  Take me back!

WHAT I’M LOVING

These products from Monat!

IMG_7750-1

Don’t mind that one is a sample. I’m waiting for the full size to arrive as I ordered it after trying it and loving it.  I know I’ve talked about this Super Moisture Masque before but it bears repeating because you guys, it’s so stinking good!  Anyone can use and benefit from this masque but if you have dry or frizzy hair this was made for you!  It’s my go to this summer.

And then the Intense Repair Conditioner is a new one I started using and I’m loving that too!  Also great it you need regrowth or if you have dry hair or ends.  Give me all the moisture and sleekness!

WHAT WE’VE BEEN UP TO

Really just finishing up this kitchen, our anniversary trip and enjoying summer.  The backsplash is going in this week and then there’s a few finishing touches to do and the kitchen will be done.  I can’t wait.  I’m ready to be back in my kitchen with everything in it’s place and not have people coming and going.  I’m also going to try real hard to enjoy this finished project and not want to jump to the next one (like the master bathroom, *cough *cough).

WHAT I’M DREADING

Nothing that I can think of.  I’m happy it’s summer and am ready for all the outside and family time.

WHAT I’M WORKING ON

I have a new segment coming your way Friday and other than that I’m working on other ideas for the blog and instagram.  Prime Day is coming up in July so for my Amazon lovers, I’m definitely tackling that.

WHAT I’M EXCITED ABOUT

Is it sad that I’m excited about TV shows on right now?  I’ll address this further in the “what I’m watching” section but there’s so many right now, I love it!  I also have some awesome audio books and podcasts I’m getting ready to listen to as well that I’m excited about.

WHAT I’M WATCHING/READING

Sooo many shows!  I probably shouldn’t watch as much TV as I do but at the end of the day I just love some mindless television watching.  Here’s what I’m currently obsessed with….don’t judge me 🙂

1. Yes, I got sucked into watching The Hills reboot, but so far it actually isn’t too bad.  I’m sure a lot of fake scripted TV is about to happen but this first episode was decent and I like that they revisited where everyone’s been.

2. Southern Charm is always a guilty pleasure because I love the south so much.

3. Who is watching Songland?  This show you guys is soooo good!  The songwriters are so talented and most times I want all of the songs to become hits.

4. And speaking of talent, AGT gets me every time.  There’s something about this show and the talent and people going after their passions and dreams that I just love watching.

5. Next, Big Little Lies is back!  If you haven’t watched this show you absolutely need to!  I never read the book so I’m not sure how it compares but season 1 and now season 2 are both a total must see.

6. And lastly, ANW will always be my favorite.  There’s something about watching super athletic people from my couch eating snacks, that just excites me haha.  They make me feel like I could run these courses despite the fact that I can’t even do a proper pushup.

As far as reading goes, you know the same is always true for me…..I have a hundred books I want to read and on the shelf they sit.  I always say I need to get into a reading routine.  I’m still trying to figure that one out.  I need all the tips and discipline when it comes to reading and even listening to audio books.  These days if I have time to listen to something it’s usually a podcast, which isn’t all bad but it’s not helping me tackle my reading list.

WHAT I’M LISTENING TO

22-jonas-brothers.w330.h330

All. Summer. Long!  You guys, this album is everything right now.  I’ve always found The Jo Bros songs to be catchy but never really got into them when I was younger (and they were Disney royalty) but these grown up, mature, high falsetto Jonas Brothers…..yes, yes, yes!  I loved Sucker as soon as it came out and now I’m equally in love with Roller Coaster and Only Human.  The song they record from Songland, Green Light, is also so good!

WHAT I’M WEARING

IMG_7710

Give me all the tie-dye right now!  This shirt is from Amazon and is under $20 and so stinking comfortable.  And the bright colors are just perfect.

IMG_7160

I’m also wearing these cute sunglasses sent to me by SOJOS.  At first I wasn’t sure if I could pull them off, seeing as how I wore something similar when I was six, but they have been well received by most.  They are $11 and totally worth snagging for yourself.

WHAT I’M UP TO THIS WEEKEND

You know I don’t think we have any huge plans.  Hopefully the weather will be nice so we can be outdoors.  Eric and I did learn in Napa that some of the wine we bought on our last trip actually won’t keep much longer so darn, looks like we may have to break into some of that :).

WHAT I’M LOOKING FORWARD TO NEXT MONTH

https _cdn.evbuc.com_images_55618711_266913964885_1_original.20190123-213259

Rachel Hollis Rise Conference!  I booked this months ago and am getting so excited for sure!  I’ve only heard the best things so I can’t wait to experience it for myself.

WHAT ELSE IS NEW

I think that about covers it!  It’s been a good month but I can’t believe we are about halfway into summer.  Time slow down!

That does it for this month’s What’s Up Wednesday. Thanks for stopping by and I’ll see you back here Friday.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY SEBASTIAN!

HAPPY BIRTHDAY SEBASTIAN!

Happy Friday friends!  I hope everyone had a great week!  Our week went well and we are even closer now to a finished kitchen, but man are we ready for the weekend.  Eric and I are spending it cleaning the house and getting the kitchen semi put back together.  My parents come in next week and this house needs some major love before we have any visitors.

Today’s post is random but totally necessary as my very first baby turns 9!  That’s right, Sebastian our Pomeranian is celebrating his birthday today! Continue reading “HAPPY BIRTHDAY SEBASTIAN!”

LET’S LOOK: WHAT’S IN MY SUITCASE?

LET’S LOOK: WHAT’S IN MY SUITCASE?

Happy Wednesday friends! It’s one of my favorite days of the month…..the second Wednesday of every month I link up with Shay and Erika and take a look at….

Lets-Look-At-912x1024

Today we are looking at….what’s in our suitcase and this is perfectly timed because Eric and I are about to go on our 10 year anniversary trip to Napa and I’m starting to pack! Continue reading “LET’S LOOK: WHAT’S IN MY SUITCASE?”

WHAT’S UP WEDNESDAY

WHAT’S UP WEDNESDAY

Happy Wednesday friends!  I hope everyone had a great Memorial Day and long weekend.  We had a great day of family time and relaxing and I was so busy I completely forgot to hop on here and wish you all a great holiday!

I was off from here Friday trying to get caught up on things, and then off Monday to enjoy the holiday but I am back today because it’s one of my favorite posts to do each month and I didn’t want to miss it.  Plus, I definitely couldn’t keep ghosting you all.

So without further ado let’s hope to it!  It’s What’s Up Wednesday where the last Wednesday of every month I link up with Shay and Sheaffer and we answer these questions…..

WUWquestions-edit

WHAT WE’RE EATING THIS WEEK

Well let me tell you it’s take out city because we are in the process of getting our kitchen renovated and therefore every dish and utensil are in the basement and it’s work enough to get a few items out to prepare breakfast in the morning, so you best believe I’m not attempting to cook an entire meal every night this week.  So we are taking the easy road and eating to go!

 WHAT I’M REMINISCING ABOUT

IMG_3184

Our date night the other weekend where we took in some food and drinks and our first Red’s game of the season.  Eric and I have always enjoyed going to baseball games in the summer but it’s not as easy to do these days with the little guy, so when his parents offered to babysit the other weekend we took them up on it!  It was a nice night out and the weather was perfect baseball watching weather.  Plus, we got to take in the new rooftop bar across the street from the stadium before the game and we loved it so much we went back after too.  The view looking across the river into Kentucky can’t be beat.

WHAT I’M LOVING

IMG_4124

Shocker, it’s a Monat product.  But you guys this Super Moisture Masque is a total game changer if your hair needs moisture (which in the summer is probably most people).  I use this masque two ways….one, as part of my overnight hydration cocktail which seriously nourishes my hair, and two, in the shower before conditioner.  I cannot even tell you how silky smooth and frizz free this leaves my hair.  It’s without a doubt one of my Monat products I can’t live without.

WHAT WE’VE BEEN UP TO

Kitchen renovations!  If all goes as planned, the next time I share a WUW post I will have a finished kitchen to show you.  Our kitchen really has no issues other than it being dated and some of the appliances under performing, but it’s just time for a refresh.  I’m a girl that loves an all white kitchen so the orange/brown vibe our current one is putting off just isn’t cutting it anymore.  I cannot wait to share it with you!

WHAT I’M DREADING

Well as much as I want the end result of a kitchen renovation, I am dreading the process it will be to get it.  Now, thankfully it’s not a total gut job so it won’t take as long but the noise, and the mess with a 16 month old in the house is a little much.  Luckily it’s summer so we can get out of the house for the majority of it and not be in the way.

WHAT I’M WORKING ON

As always just blog and Monat items.  I’m making it a goal of mine to start really setting aside some time to learn more about blogging so I can start to incorporate more advanced features.  So between that and helping people get amazing hair, I’m keeping busy.

WHAT I’M EXCITED ABOUT

I have some fun trips coming up including our anniversary trip, The Rise Conference with Rachel Hollis, Monations (Monat’s big yearly conference), and a trip to Hilton Head sometime this summer.  I’m definitely looking forward to it all!

WHAT I’M WATCHING/READING

Ugh reading continues to take such a back seat and every month I vow to make it more of a priority.  So that’s always a work in progress.  I currently downloaded this book on audible because I want to read it so badly but know I won’t get to it until Leyton is 18 if I wait to physically read it.

IMG_4125

I’ve heard so many good things about it.  There is also a Bringing Up Girls version too.  As far as what I’m watching, most of my shows are wrapping up for the summer so I don’t have much other than The Real Housewives of New York and Beverly Hills.  And darn it if I didn’t watch an episode of The Bachelorette Monday night and get sucked in!  I’m going to try to stay strong and not watch any more of it.  I did start watching this on Netflix and so far really like it.

dead_to_me

WHAT I’M LISTENING TO

Mostly just apple music and podcasts. I’m still loving Jenna Kutcher’s Goal Digger Podcast and The Ed Mylett Show for podcasts and recently added in John Maxwell.  Jenna is great for blogging/influencing/branding and Ed and John are great for personal development.

WHAT I’M DOING THIS WEEKEND

You know, I don’t think we really have any plans.  So most likely just family time and hanging out around the house and getting outside with Leyton.  We do need to pick out new hardware and lighting for the kitchen so a trip to Lowe’s is probably also on the agenda.

WHAT I’M LOOKING FORWARD TO NEXT MONTH

Our anniversary trip!  We will be married 10 years on June 20th.  We wanted to do something big but were a little limited since we have Leyton now, so we decided to go back to one of our favorite places ever!

We first went to Napa after I graduated nursing school in 2015 and loved every minute of it.  Not shocking since I love any and all wine.  So when we were thinking of places to go it immediately was on our radar.  So, we are most certainly looking forward to that!

WHAT ELSE IS NEW

Not much!  We are just excited for everything coming up and we are so so happy summer is here!

Thanks so much for stopping by!  I’ll see you back here Friday where I’m talking all things kitchen reno!

MEMORIAL DAY SHOPPING GUIDE

MEMORIAL DAY SHOPPING GUIDE

Happy Wednesday friends!  We are half way to a three day weekend and I’m pumped!  I love Memorial Day because it just feels like the kick off to summer (that and shandy beer and the sound of lawn mowers) and since the summer kick off holiday is days away I wanted to put together a quick shopping guide in case you still needed some items to get you in the holiday spirit. MY SECRETS FOR NO MORE BAD HAIR DAYS

MY SECRETS FOR NO MORE BAD HAIR DAYS

Happy Friday friends!  As usual I told you I was going to be here Wednesday and then I wasn’t.  I got behind and didn’t get to my post Tuesday evening and then Wednesday I watched my friend’s son and the day just got away from me, and now here we are.

I decided to do this post today because on Wednesday over on Instagram I posted an in shower tutorial (don’t worry I was clothed) and that got me thinking that I should share on here my top tips that I feel contribute to me having good hair days.

As evidenced by my shirt, Monat’s slogan is #nomorebadhairdays and I can attest to the fact that ever since getting into a solid routine with my Monat products I truly feel like I have, no more bad hair days.  And, I truly think these products combined with some of these extra tips, are the reasons for that. So let’s get to it!  As always if you ever have any questions about Monat or any of the products shown email me or reach out on social media, or comment below. TOP FIVE WORKOUT MUST HAVES

TOP FIVE WORKOUT MUST HAVES

Happy Friday friends! We made it through another week and today is a big day in the Koch household because, brace yourself…..we are getting our grout cleaned!  I know, try to contain your excitement.  The thing is the tile in our house is disgusting.  I’m so bad about cleaning it and it’s 13+ years old and it’s just downright gross and dirty.  We are getting ready to renovate our kitchen and so before we do that we have to address the floors.  We thought we were going to need to replace the tile but low and behold there is such a thing as The Grout Doctor here in Cincinnati and they’re going to basically make our current tile look brand new but for a fraction of the cost and time.  So needless to say, we are pretty pumped about it.
