Looking for ways to make working out more enjoyable or functional? Here are some fitness favorites for busy moms or anyone on a fitness journey.
Well you guys it happened…..I turned 40 (now 41) and my body really said, “some things are about to change around here.” I was warned that this could happen, thank you perimenopause, but boy did I not think it was true….until it was.
In my 20’s I could eat oatmeal creme pies for breakfast, lunch and dinner and not gain an inch. If I felt like I needed to tone up I swear I could run 1/2 a mile, do 5 pushups and drink a milkshake and be ripped.
But today, ohhhh today is not that way. Now, I have to make sure every meal has at least 30 grams of protein, I need tons of water, I have to workout like an olympian 7 days a week, get lots of sleep and even looking at a sugary sweet treat goes to my hips.
I’m only slightly kidding but the moral of the story is, things have changed metabolically and now that I know that, I am leaning into it and adjusting my health and fitness lifestyle accordingly.
Luckily, I have found some really useful tools that make the process more doable and enjoyable. Keep scrolling to check out my fitness favorites for busy moms or for if you need some motivation to workout.

Fitness Favorites for Busy Moms
Let’s face it staying consistent with fitness as a busy mom isn’t just about willpower. Sometimes we need some external motivation. I don’t know about you but a cute workout outfit goes a long way in making me look forward to working out.
Below I’m sharing my favorite fitness accessories that help me get moving every day.

Workout Belt
This workout belt is my go-to for hands-free walks. It has a large center pocket for essentials like my phone and two smaller side pockets for extras. Plus, there’s a built-in hole for headphones! It’s perfect for getting my steps in without fumbling with my stuff.
Dumbbell Converters
If you’re working out at home, these are game-changers! These converters turn regular dumbbells into kettlebells or barbells, saving space and money. No need to buy separate weights for every type of workout — these make strength training so much easier.
Barbell Converters
Similar to the kettlebell converter this allows you to turn dumbbells into barbells so you don’t need several barbells or round weights to add on the ends if you already have a set of dumbbells.

Weighted Vest
Adding a challenge to my daily walks is easy with this weighted vest. It’s snug and comfortable while providing that extra resistance to up my fitness game. Trust me, you’ll feel the difference in your walks and workouts!

Water Bottle Pouch
Hydration meets convenience with this water bottle pouch. It’s perfect for holding my headphones, keys, phone, and more when I’m at the gym or out and about. No more juggling!

Wireless Headphones
At under $30, these wireless headphones are a steal! They’re comfortable, sound amazing, and come with a charging case that shows the battery level. A must-have for music, podcasts, or workout classes.
Elastic Laces
Say goodbye to untied shoelaces with these elastic laces. They turn any sneakers into slip-ons, making it so easy to get going without fussing over your shoes.
Gliders
I love keeping these on hand for abs workouts when doing planks or various leg exercises. There are workouts you can find online that use these.
Wrist & Ankle Weights
I’ve worn these before on my wrists while cleaning for a little extra burn lol. But they are great to wear during workouts or on your wrists while walking.
Rebounder
I always thought these were just fun mini trampolines but turns out they are great for exercise routines too. They help with lymphatic drainage and you can find workouts on YouTube that only use the rebounder and let me tell you they get your heart rate moving.

Soft & Comfy Leggings
The right leggings can make or break your workout. These are buttery soft, stretchy, and comfy enough for workouts or lounging. Bonus: they stay put through every squat and stretch.
Oversized Tees
I’m obsessed with these oversized tees. They’re breathable, stylish, and versatile enough to wear casually or for workouts. I have them in several colors because, let’s be honest, one is never enough.

Longline Soft T-Shirts
Another favorite is this longline t-shirt. It’s oversized but perfectly tailored to cover your backside, so you feel comfy and confident whether you’re at the gym or running errands.
Sweat Shorts
The comfiest shorts you’ll ever own. These are so soft and I love that I can wear them to workout, run errands or wear with a cute top to dress them up.
