Boil 1 cup of water and drop in your food ingredient of choice. Boil for 5 minutes then strain......
After you strain, add in 1 TBSP of vinegar and drop in egg. This was yellow onion skins.
Any vibrant food that creates a dye will work. Here are some other ideas... Red onion skins.
Beets (I used canned) This gave one of the best colors.
Turmeric Powder Be careful with this one as it stains easily.
Red Zinger Tea I used 4 tea bags per 1 cup of water.
Cabbage Pro Tip: Skip the vinegar step here. It dulled the dye.
The colors that come out are earthy and subtle. For green you could dip in turmeric first then the cabbage dye.
